Hand-stripping is a grooming technique that involves pulling (or plucking) the dead outer coat of wire or rough-coated breeds by hand or with a specialised tool instead of cutting the hair with scissors or clippers. This encourages new, crisp coat to grow in. The process maintains proper coat texture and colour in the breeds where it is employed.

This option is best suited to breeds  with wire haired coats and is designed to keep you pets coat in its natural condition as well as clean and healthy.This is a better option than clipping (which can damage the coat), although this takes considerably longer and costs more (Due to the time that is required).

Village Groom Room offers a full Diploma to all pups in Grooming Etiquette. This involves:

• Helping your pup to relax with 5 bath and blow dry grooming sessions.
• We will use these appointments to allow your pet to get used to being handled safely show them how to get on and off grooming tables.
• Introduce them to grooming equipment and noises to work our way toward a full groom without causing unnecessary stress.
• We also work toward acceptance of nail clipping, ear cleaning and high velocity drying.

The earlier you get your dog used to grooming, the easier and less stressful it will be for them.

We also provide facial whitening treatments for dogs with tear & food staining at an additional cost of £5 (This is at owners request). Groom Room Products do NOT contain bleach, peroxide or other harmful agents.
